My Haircare Routine

Hello beauties,

You guys know that dyed hair means more care and that’s exactly what I try to do. Today, I will show you my hair care routine and some of the products I have been using.

First, let me give you a little background on my hair. I have curly hair (Yes, I know). I keep my hair straight pretty much all the time. Do not think I don’t love my curls because I do. if you are a curly hair girl you know that it takes time, and that time I do not have right now. Straight hair is just easier to manage, plus I feel that I have not yet mastered a perfect curly hair routine. Something to keep in mind is that I DO NOT AND WILL NEVER RELAX MY HAIR EVER AGAIN. I did it when I was young and then I stopped years ago.

While I was in college I used to do my own hair because well, I had no other choice. Doing so really damage my hair in terms of heat damage. That is why I decided to go back to the hair salon. I used to blow drying my hair and then used my flat iron. AKA horrible combination for fine curly hair.

This is how it looked the first time dyed my hair a couple of weeks ago. My colored hair got darker as you can see on the first picture.

The first time on my routine is to wash or co-wash my hair every week. That is usually what I do on Saturdays afternoon. One of my favorite shampoos is Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo. I love how it leaves my hair feeling clean and it feels really good on my scalp. When it comes to conditioner I either use whatever they have at the salon I go to or any of the deep conditioning hair masks from sheamoisture.  One of my favorites is the Superfruit Complex 10-IN-1 Renewal System Hair Masque.

The number one thing I try to avoid at the salon is leaving conditioner. Every time I went to the salon my hair got super greasy and it did not even last three days. That’s when I realized that the hair conditioner they were using made my hair oily.  After I am done with this process, I got ahead a get my hair ready to go in the hair dryer.

Since my hair is thin, I spend around 40-45 minutes in the hair dryer. This minimizes heat damage because the heat is not being applied directly on wet hair. Right after I get our of the dryer I got ahead and use a blow dryer help my roots go down a little especially on the front and back of my hair. This is the area that tends to get really curly has soon as I sweat. And this is pretty much all I do with my hair. My hair usually last 3-4 where I can just have down. The rest of the days I just do a ponytail or pin it back.

I hope you guys are having a great weekend so far,

Kisses and Ciao,

  1. You actually make it appear so easy with your presentation but I to find this topic to be actually one thing which I think I would never understand. It sort of feels too complicated and very wide for me. I’m looking ahead for your subsequent put up, I will attempt to get the grasp of it!
