I hope you had a great holiday weekend and a wonderful start to 2017. Now that 2016 is finally over, I wanted to share with you some of my goals for this new year.
Take care of my health:
I know this may sound a little cliche, but I think that it is time for me really focus on my overall health. I want to be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle and keep my stress levels under control. My goal is to set up a gym routine where I go either three or four times a week. I know this might sound a little too much, but I really want to be able to transform my body and use the gym as a coping mechanism. I want to try new classes at the gym and also get more into yoga. I started going to Bikram yoga and had to stop because of my lack of time and I also got extremely sick. The goal is to start this Monday, January 9th, 2017.
Excel to the best of my abilities as a new professional:
I finally got a job in my field and I couldn’t be happier. However, I know that I will face challenges as a new professional. I want to be able to understand the profession better and advocate for myself and my future students. My goal for this new journey is to learn as much as I can and leave my mark at the institution.
Live a more minimalistic lifestyle:
I have been wanting to get on this train wagon for a while now and I feel like this year will be the perfect time to get on it. It has been hard for me to let go of things because most of the things I own have some type of sentimental value. This is why I bought a new book called The Life-Changing Magic of tidying up by Marie Kondo. I am hoping this book will give me the basic steps to start decluttering my life.
This is going to be an essential component of my success this year. I will be having two jobs and dedicating some hours to other projects. Therefore, I have to make sure to keep my life on track. I need to make sure to keep my work and home space organized so that I can concentrate better.
Make a better use of my social media platforms:
I really enjoy Instagram, youtube, and blogging, but for some reason, I get extremely lazy and don’t post frequently. I want to change that this year and really work on my photography skills. I feel that this will be a great project and it might bring along some really cool opportunities.
These are some of the main things I want to be able to achieve this year, but I know some of them might change or I will add more to the list.
What are some of your new year’s resolutions?
